Kids Clear Bathing Instructions
Kids Clear™ Clay Bath Instructions
Kids Clear™ Detox Clay is a 100% pure, hypoallergenic sodium bentonite clay designed to gently support your child’s natural detoxification process. Its high cation exchange capacity (CEC) creates a strong negative ionic charge when mixed with warm water, helping to draw out positively charged toxins through the skin.
🛁 How to Prepare a Clay Bath
Measure the Clay
Refer to the chart below to determine the appropriate amount of clay and bath duration based on your child's weight. Avoid inhaling the clay dust; wearing a dust mask is recommended. Seal the bag tightly after use and store it in a dry place.
Fill the Tub
Begin filling the bathtub with hot water. Sprinkle the measured clay (similar to dusting icing sugar) into the running water under the faucet just above the surface of the water. Use a stainless steel or plastic whisk to stir the clay until fully dissolved. Continue filling the tub, leaving space to adjust the water temperature later.
Let the Clay Hydrate
After mixing, allow the clay to sit for 5 minutes to fully hydrate. Adjust the water temperature to between 100°F and 103°F (warm like a baby's bath, not hot like a hot tub).
Bathing the Child
Carefully place your child into the tub; the clay may make surfaces slippery. It's best for the child to bathe alone. Sitting in the clay water is sufficient; reclining is not necessary.
Post-Bath Rinse
After the allotted time, gently lift your child out of the tub. They should then shampoo their hair and take a tepid shower in a separate stall. If a separate shower isn't available, dry them off as best as possible and proceed to the next step.
Drain and Clean the Tub
Open the tub drain to let the water out. Use a sponge or your hand to swish any remaining clay particles down the drain. Add more water if necessary. Cleanup is typically easy, as most clay will drain away with the water.
Moisturize and Hydrate
After the bath, moisturize your child's skin to prevent dryness. Dress them warmly until their pores close. It's recommended to give them a natural electrolyte drink, such as Emergen-C® or ConcenTrace® Trace Mineral Drops, to replenish minerals.
📏 Suggested Clay Amount & Bath Duration
Child’s Weight | Clay Amount | Time in Tub |
---|---|---|
Under 30 lbs | ½ – ¾ cup | 5 – 10 minutes |
30 – 60 lbs | ¾ – 1 cup | 10 – 15 minutes |
60 – 100 lbs | 1 – 1½ cups | 15 – 20 minutes |
Note: These are general guidelines. Start with the lower end of the clay amount and bath duration, especially for first-time use. If no adverse reactions occur, you may gradually increase the clay by ¼ cup and extend the bath time by 2–3 minutes, not exceeding 2 cups of clay or 20 minutes total. You can also experiment with alternating increasing the amount of clay or the time in tub with subsequent baths.
⚠️ Important Precautions
Potential Reactions:
Some children may experience temporary symptoms such as fatigue, hyperactivity, nausea, light headed, loss of appetite, lethargy, irritability, skin eruptions, or flu-like symptoms. These typically resolve within 24–48 hours.
Rare Reactions:
In very rare cases, vomiting may occur, indicating a rapid release of toxins. If this happens, remove your child from the bath immediately.
Consult a Healthcare Provider:
Use the Kids Clear™ Bentonite Clay Detox Bath only under the advice of a physician if your child has a heart condition, high or low blood pressure, is on any pharmaceutical medication, or is currently ill with a viral or bacterial infection. Avoid using the bath if your child is sick.
Avoid Inhalation:
Do not inhale the clay powder. Using a dust mask during preparation is recommended.
🦶 Foot bath Instructions
Clay foot baths offer a viable alternative to full tub baths, and are recommended when one does not have access to a bathtub, or when one is too ill, too toxic, or too fragile to take a tub bath. While the feet are indeed a powerful channel for detoxification of the body, foot baths are a more gentle application than full tub baths. Use a plastic bucket or basin.
Clay Amount: Use ½ – 1½ cup of Kids Clear™ Detox Clay.
Water Temperature: Fill a bucket with hot water (100°F–103°F) up to the child's calves.
Mixing: Sprinkle the clay into the water and stir thoroughly with a stainless steel or plastic whisk. Let it stand for 5 minutes.
Soaking: Have the child place their feet in the water for 8–20 minutes, following the same weight-based guidelines as for tub baths.
Aftercare: After the foot bath, rinse and moisturize the feet. Provide an electrolyte drink to replenish minerals.
📅 Recommended Bath Frequency
Full Bath: Once a week, but not more than once every 72 hours.
Footbath: Every 2 to 3 days.
